All training sessions are led by Dr. Ingrid Kanuga, a neuroscience and executive function coach, teacher trainer, and founder of NeuroLearning.

This presentation introduces educators to how the brain moves through the Survival, Emotional, and finally the Executive State—where real learning happens.
We explore how traditional teaching often keeps students stuck in reactive states, and what’s possible when we teach in ways that support regulation, reflection, and growth.
Teachers leave inspired, with practical ways to shift classroom culture and feedback through an EF-informed lens.
Junior School Assembly
Through vibrant storytelling and fun characters like Impulse Ivan, students learn how their brain can shift from the Survival State (fight/flight), to the Emotional State (big feelings), and finally to the Executive State, where thinking, learning, and self-control happen.
This session gives young learners language and strategies to understand themselves and feel empowered.
Senior School Assembly
For older students, we break down the brain's states using relatable stories and real-life situations. Students explore how stress, social dynamics, and self-talk affect their brain state—and how to build habits that help them shift into the Executive State where their full potential lives.
These sessions help parents understand what’s really going on when a child is "melting down" or "checking out"—it’s often a sign they’re in the Survival or Emotional State.
Parents learn how to support their child in getting to the Executive State, where calm focus and learning are possible.
Workshops are full of humour, real stories, and easy-to-apply strategies for home routines, homework, and emotional regulation.
This foundational workshop helps teachers understand the brain’s three states—Survival, Emotional, and Executive—and how to build a classroom environment that supports students in reaching the Executive State more often.
Through this advanced training, teachers refine their practice by applying brain-state awareness to real classroom challenges. Whether through lesson design, feedback, or relationships, teachers learn how to guide students from reactive (Survival/Emotional) states into calm, focused Executive functioning.
Consults can include observations, calls, Zoom sessions, or group planning.
