About Dr. Ingrid Kanuga

My Journey in Education & Research

I know first-hand what it means to face learning challenges. Early in my life, I struggled with barriers that left some people convinced I’d never make it to university. But I did — and those early struggles became the driving force behind everything I do today.

After building a successful career in business, I realised my real passion was in understanding how people learn — and why some don’t thrive in traditional systems. I left the corporate world and committed myself to studying the science of learning: what gets in the way, how executive functioning affects performance, and what we as educators and parents can do to support learners differently.

Over the past 20 years, I’ve worked as an educator, researcher, speaker, and consultant, with a focus on inclusive education and executive functioning. My work is rooted in both research and lived experience — and it’s driven by the belief that no child should be underestimated or left behind..
